Research

Dr. Kaye Gehrke, along with many of her colleagues, has been conducting research on horses and humans since 2005. She provided the foundational data to demonstrate that the heart rate variability (HRV) of horses is similar to humans. This research has led to many others in the field conducting to determine the horse human connection, stress in horses, stress between horses and humans. The original research was published in 2010 in the Journal of Equine Veterinary Science.
